Arizona Department of Health Services' Tobacco Education and Prevention Program: Tobacco-Free Ways funding source. Website offers information about local and statewide tobacco tax funded programs throughout Arizona, as well as links to other tobacco control websites.

Arizona Smokers' Helpline (www.ashline.org): Offers quizzes to determine how motivated you are to quit, as well as quit tips, telephone counseling and Internet resources for people who want to quit but cannot attend a Tobacco-Free Ways community class. A service of the Arizona Department of Health Services' Tobacco Education and Prevention Program.

Federal Government

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Tobacco Information and Prevention Source (TIPS): Provides extensive information on how to quit, tobacco and tobacco-related disease research, Surgeon General reports and other educational materials. Publications can also be ordered from the CDC.

Smokefree.gov: Created by the Tobacco Control Research Branch of the National Cancer Institute, with important contributions from other nationally recognized agencies and organizations such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Cancer Society. Offers an online step-by-step cessation guide, local and state telephone quitlines, NCI's national telephone quitline, NCI's instant messaging service and publications, which may be downloaded, printed, or ordered.

National Non-Governmental Links

The American Legacy Foundation: A national, independent public health foundation that develops national programs that address the health effects of tobacco use through grants, technical training and assistance, youth activism, strategic partnerships, counter-marketing and grass roots marketing campaigns, public relations, and community outreach to populations disproportionately affected by the toll of tobacco. Site contains extensive resources and links.

Tobacco Free KidsCampaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (www.tobaccofreekids.org): A national non-profit organization dedicated to protecting children from tobacco addiction and exposure to secondhand smoke. Many fact sheets, state reports and tobacco-related news articles.

One of the most extensive tobacco news and information sites. News from around the world is updated daily. Numerous links to historical pages and information about the tobacco industry.
